Barry Wiki

Mae Dunn is a supporting (formerly main) character in Barry. She was portrayed by Sarah Burns.

Mae is a police detective in Los Angeles who is assigned to John Loach after the death of his previous partner and helps in the Barry Berkman case.

History[]

Janice Moss Case[]

Assigned to Loach[]

Following the murder of Janice Moss, Mae is assigned as the partner to John Loach. Not long after, Loach was killed by Ronny Proxin, leaving Mae in charge of not only his murder but also the Moss case.

Catching Gene[]

Soon, Mae was brought to the scene of Moss' body after getting a called from Monroe Fuches impersonating Gene Cousineau. At the scene, she found Cousineau along with Barry Berkman. Both were brought into custody and questioned. Mae released Barry but kept Gene for further questioning as he became the top suspect in the case.

Eventually, Mae had to release Cousineau after finding evidence at the scene that didn't connect to Gene.

Connection to Chechens[]

Mae interrogated NoHo Hank about the shootout at the monastery. She showed him a Chechen pin, revealing that they found it near Moss' corpse, and evidence pointed to Hank being at the monastery days before the events, linking the cases. Mae is led in a different direction when Hank told her the pin was owned by a Chechen hitman called the Raven.

Meeting Albert[]

Mae, who is working alongside Chief Krauss, began working with FBI agent Albert Nguyen as the case dragged on. Mae informed him of their current lead of the Raven and was hesitant about Albert after he rejected the theory that he truly was the killer. Mae is confronted about the lack of interrogated suspects and incompetence of their operation.

With the Raven in custody, Mae allowed Albert to interrogate him with the cameras off.

Catching Barry[]

After Albert stormed out of the police station, Mae was told of Barry's involvement in Moss' murder. She worked with Janice's father, Jim Moss and Cousineau to catch Barry in the act. That night, as Barry walked into the trap, Mae moved in and arrested Barry, sending him to prison.

Mae later was at the press conference and since then, it is unclear what happened to Mae.

Personality[]

Mae is shown to be a kind person but also incredibly incompetent and inexperienced at her job as shown with her lack of evidence found during the Moss case.
