Batir is a character in Barry. He is portrayed by JB Blanc.

He is a member of the Chechen mafia, operating under NoHo Hank in Los Angeles until the Bolivian raid. Since then, Batir has worked directly under their boss, Andrei.

History

Chechen Mob

Following the death of Goran Pazar, Batir learned that NoHo Hank was working with the Bolivians. Believing the Bolivians were the ones who killed Pazar, Batir sent a Chechen bullet to Hank and threatened to kill him. On a call, Batir was told that the person who killed Pazar was Esther, the head of the Burmese crime family. Batir ordered a hit on Esther by Hank or else they would come and kill Hank.

Batir arrives in LA during the Monastery Massacre to see if the hit has been done. He entered the monastery after Barry's killing spree had ended but found that Esther was dead, the Chechen bullet placed in her lap. He sees Hank hiding and the two share a laugh as a new operation begins.

Months after the massacre, Batir helped Hank alongside the only other survivors, Yandar, Akhmal, and Cristobal Sifuentes build a new operation out of a plant shop. Batir helped keep up appearances but kept a serious appearance, even promising to take a cyanide pill if Hank was to be arrested.

The Bolivian Raid

Batir was hosting a meeting with the heads of the Chechen Mob including Andrei. Batir tried to give them a good look at the operation but failed to find a good spot on the ground floor. He went up a car park to show the full overview of the operation but while showing off, a convoy of Police cars and the Bolivian mob drive up and enter a firefight.

Batir watched as Yandar and Akhmal were captured by the Bolivians, while the two groups caused explosions, ending the operation. Batir fled and returned to Chechnya to plan ahead.

Dealing with Hank

Soon after, Batir learned that both Hank and Cristobal had survived the raid and began a new operation revolving around sand. Batir arrived to their base of operations and gave Hank an ultimatum; return to the Chechen mob or die. Batir was present during the raid on Hank's base after he agreed to rejoin the Chechens and had dinner with them that night.
